"Normus Norm" had been part of the family for over 18 years. He was a gentle giant of a horse, an ex-eventer who had suffered injury and needed a quiet life and that’s how he came to be owned by Kim.
At 29, time had crept up on him and he was in his last summer but Kim wanted to have something to hold on to – a part of him – as a memory before his end came. We had previously made personalised hearts as keepsakes but never before infusing them with hair. Working in collaboration with our skilled glassblowers a new technique was developed especially for Kim to incorporate some of Normie’s mane into the EquiHeart shown above.
“I knew that I wanted something special which I could have before Norm was gone and keep afterwards as a memory”
Normie died peacefully 24th July 2009. EquiHearts are his legacy.
